Description Family Berberidaceae Originating from E. Asia and Mediterranean Luxuriantly abundant foliage forms soft mounds of brilliantly marked lovely, heart-shaped leaves, festooned with richly coloured nodding star-shaped blooms. This reliable ground-covering hybrid has maroon flushed leaves in spring that mellow to bright, cheerful green for summer, colouring up again in autumn. The dainty panices of spidery flowers appear in spring and have large richly coloured orange/red sepals, surrounding the smaller inner lemon yellow petals, forming an airy and delicate haze of colour over the foliage. Easy to grow in any soil, even in dry shady conditions. Height and spread after 2 – 5 years 50cm x 50cm.
